Having struck out on his own in 2013 Mark had grown his business to over £1m sales in 5 years by delivering exceptional customer service for all things related to business telecoms.
So good was his reputation that when Astrum were about to install the comms at our own purpose-built offices in 2018, FCC were highly recommended to us.
Throughout the installation that followed and the support through our first year in the new office, FCC provided us with a quality of response and service that we had not enjoyed before.
But it turned out that this was not just a one-way street.
Mark happily admits that he was very happy with his previous accountants but through his regular visits to our offices he became aware that something different was going on. Without any prompting from us he gradually discovered the level to which we were integrating easy to use technology into our clients’ everyday processes in order to save them effort and to give them better information to run their business.
‘I liked the way Astrum think about technology’ Mark said. In early 2019 he became an Astrum client.
As a starting point we provided more similar standard services but as we showed him ways to use Xero that he had never seen before; Mark saw the opportunity to free himself from the day to day accounts processes that weren’t really part of what he set his business up for.
He has relished the opportunity to create with Astrum a finance department that delivers everything his business needs without employing a single finance person himself. Mark and his staff are liberated to focus on comms and comms opportunities with daily business data that helps them run the business and supports strategic decisions.
‘I feel valued as a client. I get rapid responses to any emails or calls; and I must say the Astrum team are brilliant’ said Mark, ‘I already feel freer to concentrate on setting the strategic direction for the business and we are now focussed on getting to £10m by 2030. Having gone through the set-up process, I now have better information than ever with less effort than ever. And yes, it does cost us a bit more, but it is worth every single penny, every single day.’
Asked to put that final score on the Astrum service, Mark simply said – ‘the absolute highest you can.'
